Readings with Soul...
Touchpoints in My Life
In my practice of reading the Akashic Records, I describe the process as creating an energetic "touchpoint" or point of contact within the Records from which to discover answers and insights to Life's important questions. This happens through the vibration of love and wholeness that is the Akasha.
Within our human earthly existence, the idea of “touchpoints” can be expanded to describe those moments or events that we can recall with pride or that were pivotal to our growth and fulfillment as humans. This could be educational milestones, a career path, physical feats, barriers broken, freedoms attained, goals achieved, families created and fostered, communities supported, illness overcome.

For me, having and raising my children has been a “touchpoint” in my life with the utmost significance and has been a catalyst on my spiritual journey. This has been especially true as my son Ian was diagnosed with non-verbal autism by the age of 4. There were many interventions available and therapies to help my son. I explored and tried many of them, but found most to be focused on fixing or managing "behaviors" and didn't look at the little boy inside. I found that when I turned inward and listened to my gut, or intuition, that Ian was much better served than when I followed these "experts." To me, this was the beginning of really exercising my "spiritual muscles." I always knew there was more to Ian beyond some of his perplexing mannerisms and stimming behaviors. I took up the mission to be guided by what felt right and to see my son's autism as an opportunity vs. a hindrance.

Raising and caring for my children and especially Ian, has been the single most pivotal "touchpoint" in my life in terms of discovering my spiritual path. It compelled me to think beyond convention and the typical and to look to be guided from within. During difficult times in helping my son in his needs, I turned to spiritual teachings for comfort and guidance. In the last few years coming out of the pandemic or perhaps because of the pandemic, I became more of a serious student of spiritual concepts, delving more into meditation, particularly Dr. Joe DiSpenza's work and then learning of the Akashic Records and finding Linda Howe and her certification course for reading the Akashic Records.
Coffee as a Spiritual Calling
How does coffee fit into this? Well, like many people, our family loves coffee. Nine years ago we started to dabble with home espresso and it became a full-blown passion. A few espresso machine upgrades and lots of online YouTube video tutorials and now we serve some tasty espresso drinks at home for friends and family. We truly are giddy every day when we get to make our lattes. It has not lost its luster. The sound of the milk frothing in the stainless steel pitcher is the most beautiful sound and the smell of the coffee as it is freshly ground--Divine! And of course the nutty, velvety taste of the coffee completes the sensory experience!

When Ian was old enough to drink coffee, he showed an interest in learning to make espressos and lattes. His autism affects his motor processing, making it harder to master a skill. However, Ian's strong motivation to learn, along with his pride in a job well done helped him acquire the skills to pull a good shot and froth up the silkiest latte milk. A few years in, with our coffee passion in full force, we wondered over and over, “Do you think we could open our own coffee business?” It stayed a fantasy for many years because being a caregiver and communication partner for Ian, was and is, my full-time job. How would I be able to continue to do that and start a business? What gave me the courage was Ian--he continually overcomes his communication and autism challenges, to crush another milestone, barrier or goal. And at 22 years old, being able to work was the logical next step for Ian moving into adulthood.

2023 became a momentous year as the coffee business venture began to unfold in parallel with my Akashic Records Practitioner training. As I was finishing my level 3 training with Linda Howe, I found and purchased the logo for my website from an online artist. Akashic Touchpoints was born with the logo and Ian and I quickly realized that we liked the idea of carrying "Akasha" into the coffee business. Akasha is a Sanskrit word that means “primary substance.” In a spiritual sense it is the primary substance that is the essence that permeates and makes up all things in the material world. Percolating it down (pun intended) we love that our precious coffee bean and its resultant distillation into yummy espresso drinks is also a “primary substance!” For Akasha Coffee we took the Akashic Touchpoints logo and added a floating coffee cup with a latte "heart." We feel honored to serve from a place of caring and love and so we are "Akasha Coffee--coffee with soul."
